New Year=no sleep

Now that all this crazy holliday retail maddness is behind us, Jacob has decided to stop sleeping in anymore! Our regular wake up time now is 530...which is EXHAUSTING! I've tried putting him to bed later (he's now going down just after 8) and i've had no luck...like clock work, hes up at 530. Is it normal for him to  only be sleeping 9.5 hours? I'd be tired! He isn't napping a ton during the day as i've asked our DCP to wake him up after an hour and a half ...and hes down to one nap now (he did that on his own)

His biting really started to escalade the last few weeks too, so we're having to keep a very close eye on him when hes around other children as im afraid he's going to go in for a snack!

Today i'm off and i kept Jacob home with me from Daycare---we're going to look at some bridesmaids dresses, i'm sure he'll love that :)

Tomorrow we're getting our place painted on the inside from the developer as they agreed the damage was a bit excessive from our deficiency repairs. Next uip will be hiring a different painter and get it painted with COLOR! Im so excited to do this and am thinking we're goign to do grey's on the main floor, our room a purple grey, Jacob green, and the spare room we'll leave plain.  We were going to pain the entrance way up to the main floor , but now i'm not so sure as i'm not sure if i want grey throughout the whole house. When you've got an open concept like we do, you can see both stairwells and we weren't committed to painting the 3rd floor hallways...oh decisions decisions!

I've been a bad blogger

Ever since my store opened up, i've had 0 time to myself, let alone blog!
I am SO excited beyond words for Christmas to come and go this year as I know my job will slow down and I can regain some balance in my life.












Despite the craziness, we've managed to do some fun things with Jacob in the past week. We went to Stanley Park and rode the christmas train, and Jacob could not have been a happier boy! :) "Choo choo, choo choo!" Was all he said while we rode it, it was so adorable! Needless to say, the pic with Santa didn't go so well this year...he was a little afraid and bawled hsi eyes out haha. It was awesome and everyone needs a picture like that!


We also hit up a few parades this month, Jacob loses interest pretty quickly unless they'res loud music and bright lights going on, so staying focused was a struggle for the big guy!

Jacob is absolutely and utterly obsessed with Thomas the train. Tyler bought himm a little train set to put up around the bottom of the xmas tree and needless to say the next day it was broken from J picking up the train and throwing it....all wh ile saying "choo choo!" of course!

Tomorrow is our first day off together with the 3 of us in about a month so im looking forward to "sleeping  in" with my boys before we head out for some last minute shopping.

Only 3 more sleeps till the big guy comes to town!...and 2 until the inlaws!

Happy 18 months little bear!

Today our little big guy turned 1 and a half! Man time flies! Jacob's starting to repeat lots of words after we say them now and is so incredibly obsessed with Thomas the train i think i'm going to have to find him a train  yard for xmas! All of the little guys teeth have broke through, and last night he slept until 630am which was blissfull! Im hoping tonight will be the same. Since the day of the time change, Jacob has been waking up at 6am (formerly 7) every day and has never adjusted and it's been a little tough! But i have to say i love how the first thing he says in the morning is "Mama? Mama?" There's not better way to wake up other than hearing your baby say your name!
 It appears as though his weight gain has slowed down big time (thank god!) and he's wearing a size 2t now or 24 month pants. He's got the cutest little thick thighs that his 18 month pants can't make it over!
Jacob has pretty good eating habits and will try pretty much anything but has a love for pasta, potato's and chicken! Those are my go to foods when Jacob won't eat our dinner . He loves spaghetti sauce, but i have a hankering feeling that he may have an allergy to the acidity in the tomato's.  I've noticed that his eczema flares up big time after he eats these!
He's still drinking 2/3 bottles a day and i need to start cutting those out. He really doesn't need his night time bottle anymore, but im scared to cut off this bedtime signal for the bear...a nd i like how he'll sit still in my lap for a short time and let me give him kisses!


I can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring our little bear! Lots of learning, fun, and love!!!

Chips and pop for dinner....oh my.

My dinner choices lately have been wretched. Chips and pop for dinner, a coffee and a rice crispee square for lunch. I really need to start eating better, and ASAP! Some how amongst all this bad eating, i'm managing to lose weight. Im only one pant size away from being at my pre-pregnancy size again. (Am i even allowed to say that anymore?!) 

A friend of mine swears by this "weight management" shake called RVL by Monavie. I'm a sucker, bought some and honestly, i gagged after my first sip of "breakfast". Maybe i shouldn't use warm water with it? Ugh, i thought it was cold! we'll see how it goes tomorow am.

TOmorrow is black friday. Save me. Im going to take some pictures of my store so you all can see how busy it is inside. Today we did over DOUBLE our plan. In fact, every day has been a zoo. People in Langley like to shop.


We had our xmas photo's done with our photographer this past weekend. The whole experience was horrible as Jacob wouldn't smile or sit still, but being as talented as she is, our lady got some good shots! Here's a couple:

Exhausted.

Sorry for the lack of posts and pictures. It has been a long last week and a half and it's all about to come to a head in the store. In 2 more sleeps, my store will be open for business and ready to go. Thank god, as i need a day off.

It amazes me how many people call and ask to come in late or just call in sick or even want to go home early as they are "tired". What happened to work ethic in today's society? It seems non existent to me.

After my 3rd day in a row of 12+ hours at work, I am bagged and am going to bed.

Jacob has taken a liking to trying to feed his new stuffies from Ty his bottle. It's pretty darn cute if you ask me! Love that kid, it makes me sad to be away from him so much right now :(

Yet another attempt at solo parenting us upon us! Tyler leaves tomorrow for Toronto until Friday. I'm able to work until 530 so i can pick up Jacob luckily, but i do have to have some help from my mom one night as i have to do interviews until 9!

Tomorrow is going to be a big grocery shop day with lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and meat! I've got to have all of our meals planned out as i really won't have time to waste trying to decide what's for dinner and what to feed Jacob for lunch at daycare.

The little guy has come down with a cold this weekend. He's not his normal happy self, very whiney and throwing some awesome tantrums when he doesn't get his way! Put on the Vicks vapo rub himidifier tonight to try and help with the congestion!
