So in between cleaning, making dinner, and entertaining Jacob i've got to somehow find the time to PACK! Although you think you wouldn't need much for a 3 day trip, our SUV ends up packed to the rafters with "just incase" items to keep our little guy happy! Toys, too many diapers, clothes, blankets and strollers take up way too much room! Gone are the days of just a backpack and hopping on the ferry! Now i almost really do need to bring the kitchen sink!
One of my dearest friends Taryn is getting married on Dec 31 to her long time sweetheart Andrew and that's the reason for our hop over to the island. I'm super excited to see her marry the man of her dreams as i've watched this girl grow up from our little 19 year old Nanaimo princess to a wine loving woman with a career. Im certain she's going to be the most beautiful bride, and im honored to stand up there with her when she says "I do!"
Tyler's parents graciously offered to watch Jacob for us as it's also New Years eve, so after the speeches and first dances, the little man gets to go upstairs and be tucked in for the night with his Grandpa and Nana...and Tyler and I get to let our hair down for a few hours and not worry about smelly diapers! I even get an extra special treat, as we've picked up some forumla for Jacob so I can have a drink, or 5. :)
Every time we go to the island it's bittersweet-I love seeing all my friends and being home, yet it always means i have to leave again. I can't wait for the day when our little family can move back...in that aspect, time just doesn't move fast enough!
But the oven is beeping, and Jacob appears bored with his toys as he's making some odd screeching noises and throwing any toys he can reach. I should go! Happy New Year everyone!
