he had to give up sometime!

After 6 days in a row, i finally had a day off today, whoo! I took Jacob to daycare in the morning as i had some errands to run and we were supposed to have a plumber come and fix our sink drains in our bathrooms. Well when i called the plumber at 9 to see what was going on for a time frame he said he wouldn't be here until the afternoon i took advantage of the daycare situation and got a coffee, went home and did some laundry in silence with my ladies of "the view" and then washed the floors.

The month of August felt like a whirl wind as my days off were so sporatic and really based around other people's availability which sucked. The month of september=time to get back on track! I've been working Sundays for quite some time and im putting a stop to that...i even worked on a stat EEK! I dont get paid time and a half like everyone else 'cause im salaried so i'd DEFINITELY rather have the day off with pay.

Work is going really well, and it looks like it's going to slow down for the month of september. With all the rugrats back in school, hopefully they won't come hang out in my store and i have to babysit. Yesterday was brutal as the kids only had a half day and i swear to god all kids in surrey decided to come to BBW in Guildford. GO HOME! ----that's what i wanted to shout, but i didn't...i tried to get them to buy .50cent antibac gels. No cigar though.

Jacob decided to protest his nap today for a solid hour....

What do ya mean it's nap time...again??
Second time around was a charm, but....i caved. Gave him the soother as i was frustrated and lo and behold, he was out like a light in about 20 seconds. We're trying really hard to not give him his soother anymore and so far it's been going pretty good....with the exception of today's nap time of course. He goes to bed a night time without it no problems but it's the naps that get me. I can't figure out why he wont go down without it! I've even become brave and don't bring it out with us when we go out now.

Still no walking yet, but he's standing on his own!

Uh oh. Dropped the book!
He's a funny character this Jacob boy..he'll walk around all day with his walker but if you take it away from him or pull your hand away, down to the knees he goes! The little boy at his daycare who's a month older than him just started walking last week, so i'm hoping that this will encourage him to walk a little more as his little friend can walk away now!

We're heading to Victoria this weekend, just staying the night on Friday at the Delta ocean pointe...im definitely looking foward to getting away from the city for a bit. My dad's moved over to the island again so it will be nice to be able to do things like this and see him more often. My cousin passed away unexpectdely this past weekend and so i'm waiting to hear when the funeral is going to be...it's just so weird it all co-incides with our trip to the island, and it has defintiely made me think about how horrible it is that tragedy is what brings families together. I was a lot more upset than I thought i was when i first found out, and the on Monday it hit me how fast life can be taken away from you and you're gone. My cousin was only 24. Needless to say that night after work i went home and rocked Jacob to sleep and let him fall asleep in my arms. At the end of the day, him and Tyler are what matter most to me!

We hit up the PNE last week and Jacob had a blast. He loved the superdogs and then got a little restless with Mrs. Spider. Lucky guy got to go twice too, he went again last Friday with Tyler's parents...and he got Mcdonalds aftewards...tsk tsk tsk. At least it was only a grilled cheese!

Some how our camera broke so we're using our phone cameras which really don't do Jacob justice so bear with us until i get a new one!
