So I took the plunge (literally!) and signed up this drool monster for parent and tot swim lessons! We start this Saturday morning and are doing it for another 7 weeks! Jacob and I went swimming with our friend Leaerin and her little guy Canaan on tuesday and both the boys had a blast...minus a a minor face plant into the water by Jacob :) A few tears and he was fine though! Canaan was the cutest little thing in the water, splashing around and yelling "Dada! Dada!" even though Mom was the one keepin' him afloat! I can't wait until Jacob starts to talk, it's so cute!
For the past 2 days Jacob has been quite whiney, even when i pick him up. He's nawing on his hands more than ever, and has finally taken to the chilled teething rings i bought him. Im hoping that he'll finally get a tooth through his little gums as it seems like it's been forever that he's been drooling buckets!
Today I gave Jacob his first oatmeal teething biscuit...and he loved it :) He gobbled it up like it was going out of style! It was a little messy, but so worth the fun he had trying to pick up the pieces that fell out of his drooly mouth!
We also tried blueberries today...and this kid is not a fan! Too sour for his palate! I mixed in some whole fat yogurt, and it still didn't help it. I'll try again in a week or so, as I made 2 ice cube trays full of purees! Oh, and i LOVE my Magic bullet!!! I honestly thought using the blender was easy and i really didn't understand what people complained about...but THEN i got a bullet for christmas. AMAZING! You all must get one if you don't have one! Easy clean up and it works like a charm!
And I dont' want to jinx it, but for the past 5 nights Jacob hasn't woke up for his 4:00 am feed...he's sleeping right on through until 7am ish. I think my little boy is growing up and can now make it though the night! Don't get me wrong, he usually wakes up once at around 2:30am like clock work for who knows what reason, but i just have to go in, turn him on his side and he goes right back to sleep.Im looking forward to weaning out that waking too, but i think that one's 'cause he misses me :-) or so i'd like to think anyways!
We've weaned him off his soother during night time and nap's so i think we're doing pretty good so far! I was pretty determined after he started waking up every 2 hours a few months ago to get his soother put back in that I would get rid of it for sleeping. And it worked! However, if he wants it during the day and is being whiney, it's all his! I've recently discovered those clip things that you can put on their outfits so they dont drop their soother...fantastic invention! No more dirty pacifiers!
