So, I heard back from the BCLDB and I didn't get the job that i made it to the final interview stage for...they staffed internally. Ugh. Part of me is really choked 'cause it was a big waste of my time, the hours i spent answering all of their questionnaires, Tyler taking time off work so i could go to the interview...but then part of me is glad i had the experience.
So here I am...looking for a job. It's so exhausting!
Don't get me wrong, i have a job i can go back to, and am going back to if nothing better comes up, but there's a threat out there right now that they are transferring me locations and it's a 2hour commute almost each way to work. Doesn't work for me. Or anyone?!
So i'm trying to be pro-active and find something better. I've talked to my boss about the move and definitely let her know i'm not agreeing to it, but who knows what will happen. I'll call her again next week to see what progress has been made and then i'll call our HR department to see what I can do. The distance is whats gonna kill me. Daycares don't open early enough for me here to get to work by 9am.
I've been looking at administrative jobs, and i can't believe people work for 32,000 a year and get by! Its crazy to me! But, i would LOVE the monday to friday gig, 8-5. More time with my family is what's most important, but i have to be able to pay for daycare and life too!!
Ahhh. Had to vent. Work sucks. I need a lotto ticket!
BOO! I hope you find something, I got my job by just applying on-line. I applied and was working here a month later. I bet there are lots of jobs in Vancouver..and don't worry about starting a bit lower cause you move up quick and get lots of pay raises...I started at like 35k with CMHC and now, just three short years later I am making almost 50k...crazy eh!
