9 months!

Today Jacob turned 9 months old! He's almost been in the outside world as long as he was inside! It's crazy to think that this time last year I was trying to drag my butt around downtown Vancouver with Tyler as he tried to "catch the olympic spirit!" And all i caught was swollen feet and bad circulation!

In the past month Jacob you've made some big changes! You've started to gain weight, and it's lookin' great on you! You drink Enfamil A+ formula, 4 times a day at 8oz at a time! You're eating 2 FULL meals, and i mean full...probably the equivalent to 2 jars of food at each meal!...but mommy is still making all your food from scratch :) You tried roast beef for the first time this month, and you seem to like it, and are opening up to feeding yourself little pieces of food...but you definitely prefer to be fed by someone else! You still love your oat cookies, but are being a little to daring for my liking and are biting off huge pieces. When you see your bottle coming towards you, you freak out until it gets to your mouth. I even have to hide it before i grab you to feed you so you don't screech fanatically like a bird in anticipation!

You're finally wearing clothes that are your age! 9-12 months is where it's at now! (some 6-12 months still fit too!) I had to pack up all of your 3-6 months (it was a long time coming!) and make way for the big boy stuff!

You're still not crawling, but man are you ever close. This last week alone you've made huge strides and are rocking back and forth now just waiting to get going!

You sleep 7ish pm to 7ish am (give or take 30 minutes), and I rarely have to get up in the middle of the night! (i think twice this month...so thank you!) You only take one nap, at 10:15 sharp, and you usually go down for an hour and a half to 2 hours. No afternoon nap though...unless we're out walking  around 3 and then its a different story!

You light up with a big smile when your Daddy comes home from work, and you're starting to play strange with those you don't see often! If you have never met them at all, then there's no way Mom and Dad are allowed out of your sight! I'll take this while i can though as soon enough you'll want to run the other way from your parents!

This next month is our last whole month together while i'm on maternity leave, and it's bitter sweet! Although i'm excited for you to be growing up, i'm sad that we won't be able to spend every day together and don't even want to think about the things i'm going to miss out on.

We love you very much Jacob and we can't wait to see what next month brings!
