So don't you think the picture with the forumla just looks more inviting???
Before I had Jacob until I was about 8 months pregnant I had decided that breastfeeding was not for me. Not only was it not for me, there would be no discussion about the possibility of it. Something about it just turned me right off. Don't get me wrong, i've worked with pregnant women for 9 years plus now and I am a definite advocate for breastfeeding! It's what's best for babe and best for mom both health wise and bonding wise. But i'm also pro-choice, and my choice was heeeeeeeeeeelll no. But like i said, at 8 months, I think some maternal instinct or something kicked in, and i decided okay, i'd try it. Well, 8 months later, I was still going strong with Jacob and he was EBF.
I'm not sure why I stuck with it, as honestly, it sucked. Big time sucked. It hurt, (TMI alert!)my nipples bled and chapped...lets just say it was not a comfortable experience for months. Then, around 4 months, it finally got better! Jacob was growing like a weed at this time and gained so much weight at each appointment.
Despite the turn around, when I decided to wean Jacob a few weeks ago my passion for formula and the bottle returned! It's been 3 full days now and everything is great. Im a little sore as everything needs to dry up so to speak, but Jacob is doing great! It's like he's always been bottle fed with formula!
The other night was amazing-I actually went to the gym at 6pm after we finished dinner...and not rushing out at 8pm to try and squeeze in a work out after i fed the big guy! My freedom is returning!!!!!!
Tonight I'm even going out with a friend after dinner for a drink and some desert and gossip, and it's so nice to be able to leave knowing the bear will be just fine and snuggled up in bed by 7:15, tummy full, and peacefully sleeping away!...and I didn't have to be there! It's almost like i'm an individual again! whoo!
So as i've metioned, Jacob's gettin' quite a bit larger these days, and I had to take a picture of his old diaper (that im trying to squeeze him into during the day at home because i still have another full package! :P) and his new diaper that actually fits!
So I finally got a picture of Jacob's tooth, this picture cracks me up...he looks like a gremlin!
I decided the other day too that I'd try and get some last ditch effort pictures of Jacob in his bumbo, as he's too strong to sit in it and flips out of it now. He's such a ham with his goofy grins!
